We have all seen the emails; we’ve all heard the hype and all the bull that comes along with it. All these promises of instant profits, without touching a button, just turn it on and let it run. Or the ones that claim to double your account in just days; those are the funniest in my option.
Every professional trader, every professional for that matter, understands there is no easy solution, or someone would have done it years ago and thus no opportunity would be there for anyone else. Logical, is it not? So why would anyone believe any of these claims of instant riches, these “Shiny Objects”. Trading Forex is a business, with capital investments, just like any other business. Being a retail Forex trader is running your own business, so treat it like that and don’t go chasing after the latest and greatest thing since sliced bread.
Being a Forex trader requires the proper mindset, the most important thing. Then a trading plan is essential to being a successful Forex trader. Only then do you look at the system you use to trade with, then you can begin. Education is the most important factor I have seen in successful people, read any biography about any successful person and they talk about a teacher or mentor, who focused the minds and thus their activities. I was given a gift at age 9, by a teacher whose name I don’t remember, but who changed my life. The gift was the joy of learning. I have been to 7 or 8 universities and colleges around the world, not to get a piece of paper, but to learn, to explore our planet and gain a better understanding of myself.

Yes The Shiny Object Syndrome is real and many chase the holy grail beacuse it is promoted that way with no real results or proper training. This is the best training you will ever get from anybody who is in the market that know what they are talking about and committed to ensuring that you “GET IT”

Blaine, a great topic! I was guilty of this dangerous Syndrome…chasing the Shiny Object to gain the possible riches of the Forex! I also feel fortunate that I had the sense to realize it takes HARD WORK, DISCIPINE, and NO-NONSENSE training from Mentors who sincerely have our Success in mind and won’t give up on us, provided we don’t give up on ourselves!! I have met a few great Mentors in my journey to learn the Forex. Many times, I gave up on myself letting life get in my way. But, I would slink back, and would try again! I finally feel right AT HOME with OUFOREX. Testing and profiting from the Bias and Key numbers of Forex Joe’s Daily Reports, and constantly reviewing his Trader Mindset encouragement has been phenomenal for me. Gary Albrecht’s Forex Mastery Training has me constantly on the edge of my seat as I learn the nuances of the Forex market through the seriousness of a Master Trainer coupled with FUN!! Our class is ABSOLUTELY interactive…and the recorded webinars are there for me to review, review, and review. Sooo… Shiny Object Syndrome??…Hmmm, I looked up the word ‘Syndrome’ (which leans toward the negative) and found this definition: “A distinctive or characteristic pattern of behavior”. In my case, I’m giving up the chase, and settling down to hard work… learning what it takes to be a Professional Trader. I am here to stay! Thanks, Blaine, Forex Joe, and Gary!
